About Carrboro
Carrboro sits next to Chapel Hill with a character of its own. A walkable downtown anchored by Weaver Street Market, the Carrboro Farmers' Market, and Cat's Cradle. A Walk Score of 72, compact streets, a strong cycling culture, and a small-business scene that defines the town's identity.
Residential inventory runs from renovated cottages and mid-century ranches near downtown to family neighborhoods a short drive out. Downtown Carrboro itself, Winmore with its front-porch traditional-neighborhood layout, Ballentine on established lots, Lake Hogan Farms with its swim club and trails, and Carrboro Commons for newer townhomes along the NC-54 corridor. CHCCS schools cover the town, and Chapel Hill, Durham, and RTP are all within a normal commute.
Carrboro's commercial market reflects the same independent character. Main Street is independent retail, creative office, and ground-floor space in mixed-use buildings. NC-54 carries more of the larger mixed-use sites. Tenants on the corridor are usually small operators rather than national chains, and owner-occupants account for a meaningful share of the buy side.
TRES has worked the Triangle since 2005. The most recent named engagement in Carrboro is the land acquisition for Shelton Station, a mixed-use development planned for retail, residential, and ground-floor commercial. We bring an investment-first lens to either side: pro-forma rent versus own scenarios for owner-occupants, IRR analysis for investors, and realistic pricing for residential sellers.

Living in Carrboro
The Carrboro Farmers' Market is a Saturday morning institution and one of the longest-running in North Carolina. Locally grown produce, prepared food, music, and a steady neighborhood crowd through the morning.
The local music and arts scene runs through Cat's Cradle, the ArtsCenter, and the smaller venues around downtown. Bikeable streets, community gardens, and locally owned shops and restaurants give Carrboro a walkable everyday rhythm that's harder to find at this scale in the Triangle. Chapel Hill's university amenities are a few minutes away when you want them.
